A humongous 200-pound statue of the Ogre from the movie Shrek has recently gone missing, and the police are launching a full-scale investigation to find the culprit.
The statue is based on 2001’s Shrek, where the Ogre falls in love with Princess Fiona, a cursed woman who turns into an Ogre every night until her true love kisses her. Shrek and Fiona turn the world upside down to earn freedom from the villainous Lord Farquaad of Dulac.
After the theft, Nick Aresco of WWLP took to Twitter to report the lost statue.
The sculpture looks hardly like the movie Ogre and more like a concept art. Yet, it is fascinating that such a gigantic cement statue has been stolen, and without any potential suspect.

While Shrek 5 is developing, it has been continuously delayed since 2016! After so many hiatuses, it remains to be seen if the movie will ever release in the theaters.
After the massive success of Puss in Boots: The Last Wish, which earned $500 million at the box office, the chances of Shrek 5 releasing have gone up exponentially.
The script for the movie has been finished since 2017, but it all crumbled after the fatal pandemic. COVID-19 played a massive role in delaying the film, but things are gradually getting better!
The success of Puss in Boots: The Last Wish and Universal’s takeover of DreamWorks means they will try their best not to scrap the film. After almost a decade of waiting, Shrek fans may finally get some good news soon!
If Shrek 5 does get released, it is expected to be totally different from Shrek Forever After. We expect it will follow a stand-alone narrative that will not be linked to the predecessors.
The original cast could still return, but it will be a total revamp of the old Shrek franchise. Hopefully, it will have a cheeky reference to the stolen Shrek statue in real life!
