American Horror Story Goes Extraterrestrial In S10 Teaser

Season 10 of American Horror Story is not playing around. The recently released teaser has two terrifying worlds colliding, finally bringing out aliens to battle it out with mysterious humanoid monsters. The new season will air on FX on August 25.

We last had a mention of aliens in AHS: Asylum. The ominous beam of light seen in Season 2 has now carried down the Little Green Men to Earth. But with it being the 10th season and all, the tale is up for a little more extravagance, and as the season name “Double Feature” introduces, it will have another horrifying entity on our screens too.

Watch the teaser released July 17.

While the identity of the second entity is yet undisclosed, we can make a few guesses: Season 10 will be divided into two parts, “Red Tide” which will take place by the sea and “Death Valley” which will take place by the sand. Since we wouldn’t associate aliens with the sea, we’re counting them in for Death Valley.

This leaves us with what creatures from the sea can crawl out to spoke us. One, that immediately comes to mind are sirens. Many are wondering if we will get to see show creator Ryan Murphy’s version of these creatures.

An early poster had the alien almost locking lips with the humanoid creature. An unmissable element is the black pill resting on the humanoid monster’s tongue. The black pill features heavily in the trailer too, so there is no doubt it will play a big role in Double Feature.

A second poster, also released on July 27, gives our siren theories a little more of a nod. The humanoid monster is seen underwater, surrounded by seaweed, screaming and well… not very happy.

“Red Tide” and “Death Valley” will be explored in different locations, but it is still unsure if each part will be independent of each other or the episodes will have the two storylines running in and out.

Given that an unpleasant encounter between the aliens and sirens is also teased, it expected that the two “worlds” (and both parts of Double Feature) will crash into each other, for the worse.

Whose familiar faces can we expect to see back? You can count on Denis O’Hare, Billie Lourd, Sarah Paulson, Lily Rabe, Kathy Bates and Evan Peters making a comeback, plus newcomers Neal McDonough and Macaulay Culkin.

The first episode titled Cape Fear is directed by John J Gray and will premiere on FX on August 25. Episodes will be available the next day on Hulu.
