All Confirmed Cameos and Appearances in Dr. Strange in the Multiverse of Madness

Dr. Strange in the Multiverse of Madness was a much-awaited film for all MCU fans across the globe. One of the biggest reasons for this was the cast, characters, and all the superheroes that would appear in the film.

While the internet was flooded with rumors about cameos from characters such as Professor X, Mr. Fantastic, and numerous others, we didn’t know anything for sure… Until now. I have a comprehensive list of confirmed cameos in the movie, and you won’t believe who is making this list.

List of Confirmed Character Cameos in Multiverse of Madness:

  1. Professor X
  1. Mr. Fantastic
  1. Captain Carter
  1. Captain Marvel (Monica Rambeau)
  1. Black Bolt
  1. Clea

1. Professor X

In the very first Dr. Strange 2 trailer, we had heard a voice and instantly knew it was Charles Xavier, aka Professor X, on the screen. While the actor Patrick Stewart denied all those claims, he tweeted a photo of himself along with his wife at the movie premiere.

2. Mr. Fantastic

Played by John Krasinski, Mr. Fantastic appears in Dr. Strange 2. It was rumored that he would be one of the members of MCU’s Illuminati alongside Professor X.

Mr. Fantastic

MCU has already announced a Fantastic Four reboot which is currently under development. However, it is not confirmed if Krasinski will be playing the role of Mr. Fantastic in that film. This is because, in Dr. Strange, 2 characters appear from different universes, and we still don’t know in which universe Fantastic Four will be set in.

3. Captain Carter

Agent Carter as Captain America

Captain Carter is a confirmed cameo, and we’ve already seen her Union Jack Vibranium shield in one of the trailers. It’s another trailer where Professor X’s golden-yellow wheelchair is showcased. Like Professor X and Mr. Fantastic, even Carter, played by Hayley Atwell, is from Earth-838.

If you’ve seen What If…? you’ll know her origin story in the first episode itself. According to that, she is the first avenger in that universe, and Doctor Strange will encounter her in Multiverse of Madness.

4. Captain Marvel (Monica Rambeau)

Captain Marvel (Monica Rambeau)

Captain Marvel is shown in several trailers so far. While she was initially mistaken for the Superior Iron Man, that theory associated with Tom Cruise has been debunked. In the film, Captain Marvel’s mantle is taken on Monica Rambeau, Carol Danvers’ best friend, which means that instead of Danvers, it was her best friend who got all the powers.

5. Black Bolt

Anson Mount as Black Bolt

Black Bolt, played by Anson Mount, has already appeared in a Marvel show called Inhumans. Even this character is from Earth-838 and rules over all the Inhumans present in that world.

Inhumans has only one season on Disney+ because it wasn’t well-received by the audience. However, you can still check out the brief plotline of the show for some context before you walk into the theatres for Multiverse of Madness.

Considering Black Bolt has appeared in the film, we might see the Inhumans storyline be integrated with the larger MCU canon. While I’m not the biggest fan of the show, it would be interesting to see what Kevin Feige and his team do with them.

6. Clea

Charlize Theron as Clea

Clea is one of the biggest character-reveals in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Played by Charlize Theron, she appears in the film’s mid-credits scene.

In the mid-credits scene, Clea appears on the streets of New York in search of Doctor Strange. She requires his help to prevent a phenomenon called, Incursion. Incursion means that entire realities collapse, and she seeks Stephen to stop this. She opens a portal to the Dark Dimension, and the two enter it.

This sets up a future story that could either play out on the larger scale of the MCU or might just be a tale for another installment. We’ll just have to wait and find out.

So far, these are the confirmed character cameos in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. It would be interesting to see if there are any more characters that the studio has kept a secret.
