Meanwhile, Lola runs into her ex, Andre, who wants to discuss the unresolved issues between them. Mark witnesses their interaction and suggests that she get some closure. Emily’s case gets complicated when the witness, Damien Owens, dies one day before the ruling. Emily vows to find additional evidence to prove Owens made a false testimony at the trial and requests more time.

Lola is the presiding judge over the case and tries to be as fair as possible despite the original judge trying to persuade her that the original ruling still stands correct. She rejects the affidavit being a dying declaration. However, she gives Emily two more days to find evidence that can prove Mr. Mack’s innocence.
