“No One Knew”: Andrew Garfield Went Undercover to See No Way Home

Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire went to extreme lengths to not spoil Spider-Man: No Way Home, Marvel’s most ambitious superhero movie.

Garfield revealed in an ET that the duo snuck in a local theater to catch the movie’s premiere!

For very apparent reasons, they couldn’t be a part of the world premiere with the extravagant red carpet, but Garfield described the local undercover adventure as “beautiful.”

For both Garfield and Maguire to sneak into the theaters as nobodies, watching the movie unfurl with the audience’s reaction was incredible.

I still can’t believe it happened. I snuck into a theater on opening night and just watched with my baseball cap on and my mask. In fact, I was also with Tobey, me and Tobey snuck into a theater together and no one knew we were there. It was just a really beautiful thing to share together.

The Amazing Spider-Man actor talking about his rendition of Peter Park comes months after

excessively denying that he had no role whatsoever in No Way Home.

The Tick, Tick… Boom! actor also shared his first thoughts when producer Amy Pascal and Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige pitched the biggest fan-service idea there could have ever been to Garfield.

It was like I was the fans in the audience, watching it onscreen for the first time with like, the three Spider-Men across universes sharing a frame together…”

For Garfield, to share the same screen as the same character carrying on the legacy – and even sneaking in the theaters – with his “actual Spider-Man hero” Maguire would have definitely been the No. 1 fan moment come true.

The nostalgic element of seeing Maguire’s Peter and Garfield’s Peter supporting Tom’s, in a way, became the middle sibling redemption too.

Days after the premiere, fans all over the world couldn’t stop talking about Garfield’s incredible acting potential as the best Spider-Man, much of what remains untapped.

The actor is most definitely open to playing the Amazing Spider-Man again (“I’m very, very open, but it would have to be very, very special”). Now, the ball is in Marvel’s hands.
