Anne Hathaway, Jared Leto to Lead Apple’s WeWork Series ‘WeCrashed’

AppleTV+ is coming up with a new series based on the WeWork scandal, and Anne Hathaway and Jared Leto have signed on to play the lead roles. The series, called WeCrashed, is based on the Wondery podcast of the same name, and will recount the initial rise and the massive fall of Adam Neumann’s real estate company.

For more reasons than one, the inner workings of WeWork have been a source of amusement for most (and concern for some others), majorly for the antics of the Neumanns. Adam Neumann reportedly has ambitions of being “president of the world” and even believes that he will live forever. His wife and co-founder of the company, Rebekah, had once fired multiple employees in their company because “she did not like their energy.”

In the series, Leto will play the zany Israeli-American businessman, and Hathaway is set to play Rebekah. Neither of the actors is a stranger to roles of eccentric billionaires—Leto has played one in Blade Runner 2049 and Hathaway in Ocean’s 8.

The duo will also serve as executive producers of the show, while John Requa and Glenn Ficarra of This is Us fame will direct and executive produce.

There has been no announcement regarding the premiere of WeCrashed yet. However, it is not the only upcoming show based on WeWork. Succession’s Nicholas Braun is said to be playing Neumann in another version of the story that will be created by Stephen Falk.
