Marvel Studios has released the final trailer for the upcoming movie, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, starring Paul Rudd as the titular superhero. The film will release in theaters on February 17, 2023.
Quantumania marks the beginning of Phase 5 of the MCU, and it’s the third film in the franchise focusing on Ant-Man. Phase 4 of the MCU came to an end in 2022, marking the end of the first phase of its multiverse saga. However, Phase 5 will continue to take the multiverse theory forward.
Quantumania will play a crucial role in setting up Phase 5 of the MCU or the second chapter in the franchise’s multiverse saga, as it will feature Kang the Conqueror taking center stage.
The makers kept their word by unveiling the final trailer for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania this week during the National College Football Championship game. Check it out here-
The trailer gives us a final glimpse at the film, featuring some stellar action sequences, including one between Kang and Scott Lang. Apart from that, the trailer follows the same route as the film’s previous teasers, giving a glimpse of Scott Lang and Hope van Dyne’s lives after the events of Avengers: Endgame.
We also see an older Cassie Lang, and Scott coming to terms with bringing up his teenage daughter. The trailer clearly establishes how Quantum Realm is taking center stage and reveals a lot about Kang the Conqueror. Scott and Kang obviously end up on opposite sides, leading to a face-off in the end.
Apart from Kang the Conqueror, Quantumania will also feature another iconic villain from the comics, M.O.D.O.K. The trailer offers us a first glimpse at the mutated-cyber villain, whom fans have been demanding to see on screen for a long time. However, it is not clear who is playing M.O.D.O.K in the film as of now.
Quantumania is not just the final film in the Ant-Man trilogy. Ant-Man 3 will also play a crucial role in setting the stage for the MCU’s upcoming multiverse saga, as it establishes Kang as the major antagonist of this phase. As the trailer suggests, the film will “witness the beginning of a new dynasty”, referring indirectly to Avengers: The Kang Dynasty.
Only time will tell what the future will look like for Kang the Conqueror in the MCU. As of now, do not miss Phase 5’s first film in theaters next month.
