Ant-Man 3’s Trailer Hints that Kang May Have Killed Avengers Before

A new trailer for the MCU’s upcoming superhero flick, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, hints that the main antagonist in the film, Kang, has previously killed Avengers, making him look all the more threatening and dangerous. The film will hit theaters on February 17, 2023.

The movie is a sequel to Ant-Man and the Wasp (2018) and is the third installment in the Ant-Man series. It follows the titular hero and his family exploring Quantum Real, a place where Scott Lang was stuck before the events of Avengers: Endgame.

The film will also set up the MCU’s main villain for Phases 5 and 6, Kang the Conqueror, whom Ant-Man will be dealing with in the movie. The first trailer for Ant-Man 3 already introduced him, giving fans a taste of how dangerous Kang can be.

Marvel Entertainment recently shared another trailer for Ant-Man 3, setting up more of Kang’s personality and abilities. Check out the new promo here –

In the promo, Kang asks Scott Lang if he has killed him before as he seems like someone he would have targeted – an Avenger. Kang’s words strongly hint that he has already killed Avengers before.

As we gear up for the release of Ant-Man 3, fans have been wondering whether Lang will be able to defeat Kang in the film. Kang’s appearances in the MCU are building up to the MCU’s major ensemble film, Avengers: The Kang Dynasty, but we already know from the MCU series, Loki, that Kang has variants.

This suggests that Ant-Man might be able to defeat him in Ant-Man 3, but it will not prevent or hamper his rise to power as a major villain in the franchise. Theories suggesting that Scott Lang might die at the end of Ant-Man 3 have also been doing the rounds, but he doesn’t really ‘have’ to win.

Scott Lang’s face-off with Kang might take an emotional turn, so it will be interesting to see how that impacts the story. Since it has been hinted that Kang has already killed Avengers before, he will surely be a tough nut to crack for Scott. We’ll find out soon enough, when Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania releases in theaters next month.
