FBI Report Reveals Alec Baldwin’s False Statement About Rust Shooting

New information about the shooting incident on the set of Alec Baldwin’s Rust has come to light in the ongoing investigations. A recent FBI report states Alec Baldwin’s statement saying he never pulled the trigger will not hold up since the firearm would not shoot without the trigger pull.

The Western-themed film, starring Baldwin, Jensen Ackles, and Travis Fimmel, began filming in October 2021, but everything came to a stop only two weeks later when an accidental shot was discharged, killing Halyna Hutchins, the head cinematographer at Rust.

The incident’s details are as follows: On October 21, 2021, Baldwin was practicing handling what he believed to be a prop-revolver on the Bonanza Creek Ranch. Baldwin claims that the revolver suddenly fired a shot, killing one person and injuring another. Baldwin claims that he never pulled the trigger, but investigations were opened by the Santa Fe County Sheriff’s Office on the day of the incident and are currently ongoing.

The people of interest in the case are Baldwin, assistant director Dave Halls, and armorer Hannah Guiterrez-Reed. An FBI report shared by ABCNews publicly has now disclosed that there’s no possibility of the shot being fired without a pull of the trigger, rendering Baldwin’s statement false.

The report stated that the gun “could not be made to fire without a pull of the trigger while the working internal components were intact and functional.” None of the prime people of interest have commented on the report’s public release.

Baldwin has not taken any responsibility for the action, instead has gone around stressing gun safety and limited use of firearms in productions.

The actor even went on to show his determination to complete the film, pulling the emotional side by saying Hutchins would have liked her last work to be a success and not be halted or scrapped. But with investigations still underway and this new information, it is likely that production will not resume anytime soon.
