Nothing Compares To This: An Epic First Look Of Black Adam Is Out

Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson’s passion project. In works for a decade. DC’s anti-hero. If these don’t imply just how legendary Black Adam will be, then maybe its first look trailer, released in DCFandome, will.

He’s as brutal, as powerful as he ever was. Catching bullets in his hand, turning a human into ashes in a few seconds, and flying off, unscathed from the multiple shots people fired at him.

Johnson calls the movie a “gigantic passion project.” He revealed that the film is in its post-production stage and brought people “something special.”

The Black Adam teaser released in DCFandome shows first the team of superheroes Dr. Fate (Pierce Brosnan), Hawkman (Aldis Hodge), Cyclone (Quintessa Swindell), Atom Smasher (Noah Centineo), and then powerful, intense montages of Black Adam in action.

We first see the prison the anti-hero has been entombed in by the Council of Wizards for the last 5,000 years – his throne room in Kahndaq.

As is with explorers releasing evil energy, that’s exactly what happens here too. Adrianna Tomaz or Isis (Sarah Shahi) and Sabbac (Marwan Kenzari) are explorers who seem to have quite a good knowledge of Black Adam.

Tomaz is seen reading the ancient scripture, says the magic word “Shazam,” and lo and behold, lightning strikes, and the DC anti-hero rises from the prison.

DCEU’s show Black Adam takes a slightly different route than the comics. Isis was a slave and then the hero’s wife, but here, she is an explorer. Similarly, Sabbac also gains powers from Hell’s demons but seems nothing more than just a human being here.

As the sworn nemesis of Shazam!, Black Adam is a highly-anticipated movie that fans have been waiting to hear about and see for a long time.

Pierce Brosnan even calls it out loud at the start of the clip:

I’ve never seen the likes of it before. Having done James Bond for ten years, four films, nothing compares to this.

“Brutal, uncompromising, fuelled by the depths of his pain” is the Man in Black, Black Adam.

The movie Black Adam will be released on July 29, 2022.
