Caleb McLaughlin Thinks ‘Stranger Things’ S5 Delay has a Silver Lining

Stranger Things season 5’s delay might have a silver lining, according to Caleb McLaughlin, who plays Lucas Sinclair on the hit Netflix show.

The final season of the spooky sci-fi series set in the ’80s was supposed to start shooting in May. However, the show is on hold for now because of the ongoing strike by the Writers Guild of America (WGA) against the major TV and film producers.

In an interview with BET, McLaughlin reveals his perspective on Stranger Things season 5’s delay, thinking that it might have a positive side.

The actor fully backs the WGA and their fight but acknowledges that the delay could allow the writers to develop new ideas for the final season. Here’s what McLaughlin says:

I support the writers for sure – they are very important because any script for a film or series is being written, and to build up a great story, you need writers. I support them 100%, and I will now have the time to create my own stuff and work on music. Regarding the fans having to wait a bit for the final season, I will say things happen for a reason. Maybe this will give us time to brainstorm different ideas for the new season or maybe introduce a new character – at this time, I’m just waiting on the word for us to hop back into filming.

Stranger Things season 4 ended with a shocking twist. Max died momentarily after the gang defeated Vecna in a clever scheme, and her revival opened a massive portal to the Upside Down.

Max is in a coma, Hawkins is infested with inter-dimensional monsters, and Vecna is still plotting his revenge from the dark realm. Stranger Things season 5 will start with the teens facing their darkest hour.

However, there is still hope: Eleven has her powers back, and the friends are back together in Hawkins, ready to fight for their lives and their town.

Finn Wolfhard has revealed that the fifth and final season of the show will solve many mysteries about the Upside Down and described the ending as a “graduation of sorts” for everyone involved.

Fans are wondering who will die among the main characters, as the show has hinted at a tragic fate for someone. Some think Eleven, who has been struggling with Vecna and is connected to the Upside Down, might give up her life to save her friends and family.

The fate of the beloved Netflix show hangs in the balance as the writer’s strike drags on. The WGA stays firm in its demands from the AMPTP, leaving Stranger Things fans in the dark about when they will see the ultimate showdown between Eleven and Vecna.

Unless the strike ends soon, it could be late 2025 before we find out who will save Hawkins and the world.
