FBI S4 Finale Centered Around School Shooting Taken off Air

In light of the Texas elementary shooting on May 24, CBS has pulled the broadcast of the FBI Season 4 finale scheduled to air on the same day.

The crime series created by Dick Wolf and Craig Turk was going to air its finale titled Prodigal Son at 8 PM ET.

The synopsis of the episode was the FBI team investigating and trying to solve a deadly robbery. It would then take an unfortunate turn when the perpetrator would be revealed as Jubal Valentine’s (Jeremy Sisto) son.

The finale would have hit too close to home and been extremely insensitive if CBS had not pulled the plug on it. CBS aired the 12th episode titled Under Pressure in place of the finale.

However, the ongoing FBI spin-offs—FBI: International and FBI: Most Wanted—will broadcast their season finales at the designated times.

The decision arose after an 18-year-old male opened fire at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas. As per THR’s latest death toll, the shooting left 19 children and two adults dead.

According to TVLine, two police officials were injured and are currently undergoing hospital treatment.

The teenage gunman was killed in fire by the authorities, stated Texas Governor Greg Abbott after confirming the death toll.

The shooter killed his grandmother before going to the elementary school and taking the kids’ and teachers’ lives.

The horrifying incident became a cause for debate in the United States over gun control yet again. #TexasSchoolMassacre trended on Twitter as people discussed gun laws, children’s safety in schools, and the abortion law.

Moreover, officials confirmed that the teenage gunman was wielding an AR-15. The news is devastating as the US has a numbing history of mass shootings in the recent past.

On May 14, a white gunman opened fire and killed ten Black men in a grocery store in Buffalo. On May 15, in California, a 68-year-old man wielded a gun, killing one and wounding five in a Church.

It is still unclear if CBS will ever air the FBI Season 4 finale or not.
