Chris Tucker Finally Talks about his Return in Rush Hour 4

Chris Tucker has finally hinted at his comeback for Rush Hour 4, where he will share screen space with Jackie Chan.

The Rush Hour movie series is the perfect concoction of Chris’ comedic talent and Jackie’s martial arts skills. Though they did well commercially, the films received mixed reviews from critics.

After a hiatus of several years, Jackie Chan disclosed towards the end of last year that they had started working on Rush Hour 4.

After Chan’s announcement regarding the development of Rush Hour 4, the other lead actor has finally shared his thoughts.

In an interview with Audacy’s V-103 to promote his role in Air, Tucker confirmed his eagerness to be a part of Rush Hour 4 with Chan. Check out his exact words below:

You’re going to see a lot of good stuff coming, but it’s going to be on a whole other level. That’s what I like… I’m excited about that. It’s not going to be what you’ve normally seen… Rush Hour 4, that’s something I definitely will probably drop in there because I love working with Jackie, but I’ve got some new stuff that I think you’re really gonna like. I’m excited about it.

For many years, there has been an ongoing discussion about the possibility of creating Rush Hour 4.

These discussions began in 2017 when Chan first said another sequel was in the works.

Tucker confirmed Chan’s comments the following year and referred to the fourth film as “the rush of all rushes.”

Despite Tucker’s assertion in 2019 that the film was close to being made, Rush Hour 4 failed to get off the ground and remained dormant for several more years.

It remains unclear whether the development was resumed or started over when Chan announced Rush Hour 4 again in December of last year.

Brett Ratner, the director of all three Rush Hour movies, has been accused of sexual assault and harassment by several actors, including Olivia Munn, Natasha Henstridge, and Elliot Page.

As a result, Warner Bros. cut ties with Ratner, and the search for a new director for the fourth installment began.

Both lead stars of the movie, Chan and Tucker, are tentatively attached to Rush Hour 4, and the long-awaited sequel is finally taking shape. However, fans might be cautiously optimistic since there haven’t been any tangible results despite Chan and Tucker’s comments.
