“5 Times As Rad,” Cast On Cobra Kai S5 Early Renewal

The cast of Cobra Kai can shout out one big hurrah after last week’s news of Season 5 is being renewed ahead of S4’s December premiere. Ralph Macchio and William Zabka take to Twitter to react.

Both have attached the renewal announcement clip originally posted by the official Cobra Kai Twitter account. The symbology is powerful — the “V” ( for Season 5) is encased in flames till it solidifies into its metallic form.

While Zabka expresses that the dojo (or rather, the show) will be five times as rad, Macchio goes on to thank fans for their continued support, saying that more Cobra Kai story is coming our way.

And indeed, one of the most beneficial aspects of an early renewal is that the creative minds of the show can plan their future run, especially plot-wise without having to worry about any limitations or cancellations. Sometimes an uncertain future can cause the shows to have safe, but boring/repetitive season finales. At least we can rest assured that will not be the case for Cobra Kai’s Season 4.

Macchio also states that the filming for Season 5 is about to start. Although Season 4’s debut is still a few months away in December, we may get the new season soon after.

Macchio and Zabka will be joined by Mary Mouser, Tanner Buchanan, Courtney Henggeler, Xolo Maridueña, and Peyton List, all who will reprise their roles for Season 4. Converting from guest star to series regular will be Thomas Ian Griffith’s Terry Silver, the new season’s main villain.

Johnny and Daniel

At the end of Season 3, Daniel and Johnny put aside their differences to fight their mutual enemy John Kreese (Martin Kove). It is left to see if this was simply a temporary truce or will the two have each other’s backs when it comes to Silver bringing trouble to town.

I’m also curious to see if Johnny will ever reclaim the Cobra Kai dojo he rebuilt from the ground up or will simply move forward with the newfound Eagle Fang Karate dojo.
