Cobra Kai Season 5 Won’t Be The End Of The Series

Cobra Kai’s co-creator Jon Hurwitz says the development for Season 5’s finale is underway, which may carry forward into more seasons.

This Karate Kid spinoff has been a massively successful endeavor for Netflix, which took over the show after original broadcaster Youtube Red dropped it.

Besides Cobra Kai’s record-breaking streams, its early Season 5 renewal ahead of Season 4’s upcoming December premiere is clear evidence of its popularity.

Early renewals mean that writers can map out an elaborate plotline and tighten it to give the show the story it deserves.

In response to a fan who frets over whether Cobra Kai’s story may just get dragged (and boring!) in the future, co-creator Hurwitz tweets out the following:

The creative minds of Cobra Kai mean business as they’re already planning the end of Season 5. Hurwitz’s tweet also points to the possibility that Season 5 will not be the show’s last season.

Additionally, it seems that the team has a set “endgame” in mind, which means whatever loose strings we will pull at in the upcoming seasons will be tied together by the time the show is ready to take its last bow.

For Season 4, there’s a lot of drama that awaits: To defeat their common enemy John Kreese, Johnny and Daniel will be joining forces and putting aside their animosity (for now).

The union is rather refreshing as both characters have had good intentions through the Cobra Kai seasons, but never a sound resolution for their Karate Kid history.

Besides this, I’m looking forward to Johnny and Robby’s father-son dynamics, Tory’s plunge into the dark side, and of course, the monumental All-Valley Tournament.

The season’s big baddie will be Terry Silver, who Karate Kid fans know and despise from the third movie. Of course, the events of Season 4 will tell if Silver will be vanquished or it is here to stay and cause trouble for the foreseeable future.

All in all, fans can rest assured that all the plot moves (good and bad) in the upcoming season have a greater purpose. And even if we’re left with a cliffhanger at the end of Season 4, we know that there is much, much more coming.
