Cobra Kai Showrunners Tease Return of Miyagi-Verse Characters in Season 4

Cobra Kai found a large audience in 2020, two years after it was initially released in 2018. Netflix acquired the series in June 2020, and it debuted with season 3 on January 1, 2020. The streaming giant renewed Cobra Kai for season 4 in October last year even before the season 3 premiered.

Recently, the showrunners of Cobra Kai teased about characters from Miyagi-verse making an appearance in season 4. Ali Mills’ appearance in season 3 came as a surprise to the fans.

TVLine asked the showrunners Josh Heald, Jon Hurwitz, and Hayden Schlossberg about the possibility of Ali reappearing in the next season. To this, he answered, saying that the doors are open for any Miyagi-verse characters.

“We won’t comment on what our future plans are with anybody who’s a legacy character from those movies other than to say that we have a long story left to tell,”

Josh Heald

“We always leave the door wide open for anybody from the Miyagi-verse to come in and out of the series.”

Return of Ali Mills in season 3 influenced Johnny Lawrence and Daniel LaRusso into teaming up and mending their rivalry.

We also saw the return of legacy characters like Chozen and Kumiko in season 3. John Kreese also made an appearance at the end of season 1 of the series.

The show keeps bringing back characters from The Karate Kid films throughout its seasons. Considering this pattern, we can also expect to see Terry Silver (as teased in season 3) in season 4.
