The first reviews of Halo are in, and they’re faring towards the positive side of things. The Paramount+ show is being commended for staying true to the source material, despite it being so vast and intricate.
This can only come across as good news to fans who can’t wait to see the rest of the season unfold, and how it does justice to the games.
Speaking of that, I bet you kept a keen eye out for any and all Easter eggs that Halo packed in Episode 1. Here’s a complete list for you to peruse through.
1. Master Chief’s HUD
The show goes into a first-person POV by showing us what the world looks like through Master Chief’s HUD (Heads Up Display).
Those who play Halo are already familiar with this since it’s what they see most of the time. Similar to what it looks like in the games, it has a health bar, mini-map, and other information.
2. The Gatling Gun
We see General Ha holding a gun with the words “Colonial Military Authority” on it. The CMA used to precede the UNSC, and this very Gatling Gun was one of its signature weapons.
3. MP Helmet and Shield Sound
Did you catch one of the Spartans wearing the MP Helmet from Halo Infinite? Rewind to 13:23 to have another look. A few minutes later, the Spartan armor makes another recognizable sound—the low shield notification and recharging notification.
4. Cortana’s Dialogue
When the Spartans explore the cave network, one of them says, “This does not appear to be a natural formation.” This is actually Cortana’s dialogue in the first Halo game, but since she’s not yet introduced in the show, we have the Spartan saying it instead.
5. Marathon Reference
Let’s go to the scene where Master Chief finds the keystone and then activates it by touching it. If you look closely, a highlighted symbol that looks like a circle within a circle is also created.
This is the logo for Marathon, another game made by Halo’s company, Bungie.
6. Mass Effect Reference
You have to give the show kudos for trying to reference other popular video games, too. One of the dialogues goes:
Commander Shepherd, you are requested at the Skyllian Response Center.
Shepherd is the famous protagonist of Mass Effect, while Skyllian borrows the name from Skyllian Verge, a region of space in the game.
7. Moa Burgers
Don’t lie—when you saw Kwan eating that patty, you thought, “Moa Burgers!” In all likelihood, the patty is the same as the patty used in Moa Burgers in the game.
For those wondering what on Earth is a Moa, it’s a type of space ostrich that apparently makes for some really good meat patty.
8. Misriah Armory
Towards the end of the show, we see Master Chief fiddling with the communications panels on his ship, and right there is a very specific logo.
This is logo is of the Misriah Armory, which in the games, is an enterprise that makes a number of combat weapons.

Halo is an American live-action sci-fi television series based on the Halo video game franchise. It is developed by Steven Kane and Kyle Killen for Paramount+.
The series follows a 26th-century war between the United Nations Space Command and the Covenant, a theocratic-military alliance of several advanced alien races determined to eradicate the human race.
The series stars Pablo Schreiber, Natascha McElhone, Charlie Murphy, Jen Taylor, Shabana Azmi, Bokeem Woodbine, Kate Kennedy, Natasha Culzac, Yerin Ha, and Bentley Kalu.
