Cobra Kai’s Season 4 is about to premiere on Netflix, December 31. The show has released its first look images, teasing what’s to come — including a new, unnamed character.
Season 3 ended with Kreese taking over Cobra Kai. This forced Daniel and Johnny to put their differences aside and join forces, training the crews of both their dojos together.
The first set of pictures shows Johnny attempting Daniel’s signature “Crane Kick.” Noting that both the masters have trained in different techniques and have contrasting beliefs and values, it is kind of sweet to see the usually reluctant Johnny trying out Daniel’s methods.
The photoset also has the kids looking surprised through a dojo door, perhaps witnessing one of Daniel and Johnny’s frenemy spats.
The next one shows us what’s happening at the new Cobra Kai, as Robby finds himself being bested by Tory.
In the second set of pictures, the emphasis is on the new kid in town, who has no clue what he’s about to get into. The picture shows the yet unnamed character being bullied in the school hallway.
As with many others in the show, dealing with bullies and other anxieties could be the reason why the new kid takes up karate.
We also get a look at new cast addition Dallas Dupree Young, who will be playing Kenny this season.
The last set of photos focuses on the LaRusso family, a special mention to a moment being shared with Daniel and his son, Anthony. As a karate master, Daniel does have to focus his energy on his students and the dojo, sometimes sidelining his personal life.
Perhaps the LaRusso father-son relationship will deepen this season, as this is a theme explored through Johnny and Robby’s dynamics as well.
One prominent absence from the season’s first looks is that of Terry Silver, who will reprise his antagonistic role from Karate Kid III. He has previously made guest appearances on the show, but this season Silver promises to do some real damage.
With the All Valley Tournament coming up, I’m at the edge of my seat to find out how it all goes down!
It’s been little over a month since the last Cobra Kai Season 4 teaser trailer and something tells me one is right around the corner. Stay tuned!
