Family Time! David Tenant’s Son & Father-in-Law Join Good Omens S2 Cast

Following the demon Crowley and angel Aziraphale, Good Omens season 1 featured the unlikely duo’s joint venture to stop the Antichrist’s rise and the inevitable Armageddon that would have followed his entry. After season 1’s great reviews and popularity, Amazon Studios renewed the limited series for a season 2 in 2021.

A new update regarding the show’s casting has been reported by Radio Times, stating that David Tenant’s family members will join him in the season 2 cast. House of the Dragon star Ty Tennant and Doctor Who’s Fifth Doctor, Peter Davison, were cast as Ennon and Alistair, respectively. So, David’s son and father-in-law will now share his adventure on Good Omens!

We don’t know what part their roles will play in the show, but considering the series is due this summer, we’ll soon get a trailer revealing what to expect in the upcoming season.

Neil Gaiman recently confirmed that the new season will drop on Prime Video soon, setting an estimate for May or June 2023. The show, based on Neil Gaiman and Terry Patchett’s 1990 novel of the same name, wrapped up the events of the book in the first season. Of course, fitting the whole story in one season makes sense since it was meant to be a limited mini-series.

But now that season 2 is on the way, and we can’t form any theories based on the book, the upcoming chapter of Crowley and Aziraphale’s story is a mystery. But we have some new cast additions and farewells, so let’s get to that.

Michael Sheen and David Tenant will return as Aziraphale and Crowley, but Benedict Cumberbatch and Frances McDormand won’t be back to voice Satan and God. Nina Nosanya and Maggie service are returning, but they’ve been recast into different roles. Miranda Richardson joins the vast as Shacks, the demon replacing Crowley in his position, and Shelley Conn will play the new Beelzebub.

Ty Tennant proved his acting chops as Aegon II in House of the Dragon, and we know Peter Davison is more than capable of bringing any character to life with a unique vigor. It will be interesting to see David’s family members acting side-by-side with him in the upcoming season of Good Omens.
