DC Announces Its Latest Animated Movie ‘Injustice’

In a tweet that is referencing the news, Ed Boon, the director of the original game, tweeted out a screenshot that showed the word “Injustice” trending on social media.

Based on the fan-favorite game and the comic series that continues the story, Injustice: Gods Among Us will adapt the story of a dark alternate timeline in the DC Universe.

Some of the prominent characters featured in the games include Batman, Lex Luthor, Green Arrow, The Joker, Green Lantern, Cyborg, The Flash, Harley Quinn, Nightwing, Solomon Grundy, Superman, and Wonder Woman.

The storyline of the first game sees Superman becoming a megalomaniac tyrant and Batman leading an insurgency of heroes to try to overthrow him. Injustice 2 then continued that storyline and those character dynamics while also pitting all of the heroes and villains against Brainiac.

“Injustice: Gods Among Us” Game

The storyline of Injustice, which pits many of DC’s characters against each other, is very interesting to watch.

Not much information on the film has been released, so expect more from DC in the future. If the movie adapts the comics or game faithfully, fans are in for a treat. However, it’s possible the film could be a loose adaption as well, grabbing elements from the plot, and doing its own thing. Whatever be it, we’re all definitely in for a treat!

About Injustice

Injustice is a bold fighting game featuring a large cast of favorite DC Comics icons such as Batman, Harley Quinn, Solomon Grundy, Superman, The Flash, Wonder Woman and many others and it is getting a movie adaptation.

2013’s Injustice and its 2017 sequel are set in an alternate DC Universe where Superman is driven mad after being tricked by Joker into killing his wife Lois and their unborn child. Five years after that tragedy, Superman rules the world with an iron fist, forcing the Justice League of the regular DCU to cross dimensions and battle this tyrannical Man of Steel.

It remains to be seen just how closely the movie will follow the plot of the original game and whether the game’s voice cast will reprise their roles for the film.
