HBO Max Drops DC Titans Season 3 First Teaser Trailer

HBO Max just dropped the first teaser trailer for the third season of Titans. The series is inspired by characters from the DC comics. In the teaser, Nightwing narrates, “This is Gotham. This city breeds a special class of criminals,” providing us with glimpses of what fans can expect from the upcoming season.

The latest season is expected to see the Titans reunite in Gotham City, facing new dangers. New additions to the story include characters of Barbara Gordon, Tim Drake, and Scarecrow, along with Jason Todd’s Red Hood debut. Previously, season 2 had introduced other well-known DC characters like Conner Kent, Rose Wilson, Jericho, and Bruce Wayne.

Showrunner Greg Walker explained at DC FanDome last year that this season is going to be different with the ensemble ultimately figuring out how to work as a team and that it will end optimistically.

Season 2 finale saw the Titans putting aside their differences and uniting as a team. It also set up Blackfire’s arrival on Earth, making her a strong prospect as one of the main antagonists for season 3.

The trailer teased the Joker and gave us the final look at Curran Walters’ Red Hood. Walters had previously teased his character’s proper ‘metamorphosis’ debut via social media posts.

A while ago, Walters talked to Comicbook.com about Red Hood,

“I wasn’t that too crazy into comics. I knew, of course, of Batman and Robin and all the other crazy famous characters. But as soon as I booked the role, I went out to the local comic book stores, and I got everything I could find on Jason’s story… I watched the movie. I read all the comic books, and I got a feel for the character and where I needed to take it when I got on screen.

You know, on the day, you have all this pressure of booking a comic book role, especially since the character’s been around for so long… but I just did my best, and I think I nailed the role, and all the fans are pretty happy with it.

And one thing about the character, too, is like, I felt like in a way I did have to act, but I didn’t. It’s all how I am in person. I’m very energetic. I’m very just all over the place. So, half of it was like, ‘Hey, that’s just me’ and half of it was, ‘Oh, I got to act,’ so. It was definitely awesome.”

In an interview with Collider, Alan Ritchson called the new season the best one yet.

Season 3 of Titans will see the return of Brenton Thwaites as Nightwing, Anna Diop as Starfire, Ryan Potter as Gar Logan, Alan Ritchson as Hawk, Minka Kelly as Dove, Chelsea Zhang as Rose Wilson, and Joshua Orpin as Conner Kent.

Originally premiering on DC Universe, it was recently announced that Titans would be moving to HBO Max, along with other shows including Doom Patrol, Stargirl, Young Justice, and Harley Quinn.
