Sony Falsely Promoted Spider-Man NWH Deleted Scenes on Blu-ray

Spider-Man: No Way Home is officially out for purchase on Blu-ray, and fans are more annoyed than pleased due to missing deleted scenes.

Fans called out Sony Pictures for “false advertising,” as the previously promised and prominently advertised deleted scenes and footage were nowhere to be found when fans bought their copies.

The physical copies for Spider-Man: No Way Home got an early release this month in the UK with DVD, Blu-ray, and 4K Blu-ray discs. Now, fans are understandably disappointed at Sony as those scenes will also be cut from the US copies.

The posters at many retailers, including Walmart exclusive editions, still promise the addition of deleted scenes.

These packshots seem to have been printed before Sony’s decision to pull the deleted scenes, hence leading to some fans accusing Sony of false advertising.

When Sony had first announced the inclusion of deleted scenes in the pack, the studio had promised ten whole minutes of deleted scenes, with scenes like Interrogation Scene Extended, Peter Day at Midtown High, Undercroft Montage, Happy’s Very Good Lawyer, and The Spideys Hang Out.

Sony Pictures has not yet commented on the matter.

Many suspect that Sony has plans for a re-release of Spider-Man: No Way Home where they add in the extended scenes, hoping to top what Marvel did with Avenger: Endgame.

So. you might be wondering what else the physical copies contain if not the deleted scenes.

The copies have featurettes, but it might be disappointing to some as it lacks a commentary track like most films often do.

It still includes 80 minutes of bonus content (minus the 10 minutes of deleted scenes) on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-Ray, Digital, with two featurettes on DVD.

The second is A Meeting of the Spiders/Heroes Panel, which consists of Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield, and Tom Holland discussing their characters, stunts, and skin-tight suits.
