Eternals’ Final Trailer Reveals The Deviants And Endgame Connection

The final full-length trailer of Marvel’s Eternals quenches all your curiosity: first looks of the Deviants, the Eternal’s history and what on Earth were they doing during Endgame?

I was already colored impressed right from the first teaser trailer released on May 24th that was ripe with emotion as it opened up the tale of the Eternals living among us. The final trailer, dated August 19, has only elevated what we’ve already seen.

Marvel Studios’ Eternals | Final Trailer

The first and second trailers both emphasize the fact that the Eternals were never to interfere in human events, which often would be hard for them to digest as well — including the war with Thanos. Picking up from the aftermath of Avengers: Endgame, it explains that the force of snapping back living beings into existence, also opened a gateway to something more devious.

As instructed by their creators, the Celestials, they must now unite and put up a strong front against the Deviants, a race of imminent danger to both humans and the Eternals.

The trailer gives us our first look at the villains, with an ominous countdown of seven days until all hell breaks loose.

Chloé Zhao beautifully captures the expanse of the Eternals’ 7000-year stay on Earth, swirling in and out of powerful cultures, civilizations and historic events leading up to the present day.  According to EW, as director, she was only happy to be at the forefront of this fresh MCU chapter, with a lot yet to be explored through these newly introduced characters.
