Dexter: New Blood Season 1 Episode 5 Speculation
Just as Dexter suspected, Harrison was the one to attack Ethan first. He carries Dexter’s ‘dark passenger.’ Unlike Dexter, Harrison is effortlessly charming and friendly and makes connections easily. However, the fact that he thought as far as to bring a weapon from home hints to the fact that he might’ve done this before and will most likely do it again.
He knew Ethan was disturbed from the years of bullying and showed Harrison the sketches he made with his classmates dead and him standing over them with a gun. Did he target Ethan as a way of preventing him from hurting his classmates in the future or because he was a socially awkward recluse and it would’ve been easy to spin the school shooter narrative on him? Either way, it’s clear that Harrison is capable of killing.
Kurt escorts a young woman who’s stranded in town to a cabin that looks eerily similar to the one the killer’s who was abducting young girls. It’s most likely that Kurt is the killer. However, one thing is not clear – Why did he lie about Matt being alive? Was it to get the police off his radar so he can continue killing young women? Find out in the next episode.

Dexter: New Blood Season 1 Episode 4 Recap
Kurt tells the police that his son is alive and the search is officially called off. When Angela asks him to get her in touch with him, he tells her that he’s probably on a drug bender and hiding out in a hotel in New York. Harrison listens to Molly’s true crime podcast and plays the episode about the Trinity killer.
Later that day, Dexter gets an alert on his phone about a violent incident at Harrison’s school. He rushes to the scene after getting to know that Harrison was involved. He finds Harrison getting his wounds dressed by the paramedics. Harrison tells the police that it was an act of self defence and that Ethan tried to get him involved in killing all his bullies. He claims that Ethan came at him with the knife when Harrison refused to be part of his plan and he slashed his leg in self defense.
The police find Ethan’s gory sketches and that corroborates Harrison’s story. The next morning, Dexter realizes that Harrison’s stab wound is quite shallow and something isn’t quite adding up. Dexter revisits the scene of the crime and traces the blood splatters to recreate the event. He realizes that Harrison was the one who attacked first, and brought his own weapon to do it. He looks through Harrison’s room while he’s at school and finds a straight razor hidden in a torch, just like the one Trinity used to kill Rita.
Meanwhile, Molly proposed teaming up with Angela on the missing girls cases. She even finds the new name and location of one of the girls on the board. Angela tells her about Iris and how her disappearance led to her becoming a cop.
Dexter is a cult classic crime drama series that first aired on Showtime. The show’s first season was derived from the novel Darkly Dreaming Dexter (2004), the first in a series of novels by Jeff Lindsay. It was adapted for television by James Manos Jr., who wrote the first episode. Subsequent seasons evolved independently of Lindsay’s works.
Dexter Morgan (Michael C. Hall) is introduced as a serial killer who kills other killers who have escaped from, or haven’t been found by the justice system. By day he is a blood spatter analyst who works for the Homicide Department of the Miami Metro Police.
