Dexter: New Blood Season 1 Episode 8 Speculation
Despite having DNA evidence linking Kurt to Iris’ murder, he’s able to escape the arrest by pinning the blame on his father – a violent man who often abused and took advantage of runaways. It’s clear that he is a powerful and well-connected man who knows how to play the system and has had strategies in place in case he’s ever implicated in the murders he’s committed throughout the years.
The system’s failure to be able to catch the killer further pushes Dexter to take matters into his own hands, especially now that Kurt knows he killed Matt due to the titanium rod he found. Clearly, Dexter underestimated Kurt who had been onto him since the night he gave him a ride back home. Kurt will continue to use Harrison as a pawn in his mind games and possibly to keep Dexter from revealing who he truly is.
What’s worse for Dexter is that Angela and Molly are becoming increasingly suspicious of him. While his focus is on Kurt and Harrison, Angela might uncover some of the rather questionable actions he took during his solo investigations. How deep will Angela keep digging and how will she react to this information? This attention on him might pose an added obstacle to carrying out his plan of finally having Kurt on his kill table.
Harrison’s violent outbursts are happening more often. He finally tells Dexter that listening to the podcast made the memories of his mother’s grisly murder come flooding back. Dexter feels compelled to tell his son the truth, perhaps to make him feel less alone and to help him in coping with his dark passenger.
However, he gets kidnapped before he has the chance to do so. Will Kurt get to Harrison first and push him even further away from Dexter? The season is building up to a major showdown between the two seasoned serial killers. Who will emerge the winner? Stay tuned to find out.

Dexter: New Blood Season 1 Episode 7 Recap
Dexter relives his glory days as a forensic expert as he helps Angela in investigating Iris’ corpse. He’s able to spot skin remains in her teeth which provides Angela with the DNA evidence she needs to arrest Kurt. However, Kurt quickly lawyers up and tells the police it was his father who murdered Iris. Since the DNA match was only 66%, they have to let Kurt go.
While Kurt is in jail, Dexter confronts him about the titanium rod and tells him to stay away from Harrison. Iris’ family mourns her death and the community shows up in support. Angela is devastated and tells Molly about how sure she was about Kurt being the real killer. Molly raises some suspicion about Dexter and how it was odd how he showed up immediately after Kurt had escorted her to his cabin.
Kurt knows that Dexter killed Matt and he tells him he discovered Ash on his jacket the day Dexter gave him a ride home. Harrison has another violent outburst when the rival school’s wrestling team tries to jump him while he’s at work. Dexter comes in and deescalates the situation just in time. Harrison tells him about how he had nightmares growing up and the podcast episode triggered all the memories of his mother’s murder to come back.
