Did Lady Loki Create The Multiverse? Will Dr. Strange Appear Next?

Did I just say Lady Loki in the title? Did we just see another mischievous god? I mean, we couldn’t get enough of one, and now we’ve got two! Loki’s second episode has left us with several questions.

‘Did Lady Loki create the multiverse?’ and ‘Is this connected to Doctor Strange in The Multiverse Of Madness?’ Before I answer that, let’s just take a quick recap of the episode. I know I want to, and I’m sure you do too!

So, after an introspective episode 1, Loki is working with Mobius for the TVA (Time Variance Authority, if you’re not used to the word yet). As opposed to the first episode, this is much more fast-paced and keeps us at the edge of our seats.

Loki being Loki, plays his fair share of tricks on the TVA. I mean, it would get boring otherwise, wouldn’t it? Besides the casual narcissism and playfulness of the character, episode 2 offers a few interesting points that can be major plotlines.

1. Loki And The Multiverse

The first one is our main focus.

Did Lady Loki create the multiverses? How is it connected to Doctor Strange 2, and will we see an appearance from Doctor Strange?

Lady Loki

Though it is ambiguous, it looks like Lady Loki did create the multiverse! There is no explicit news from the producers about an appearance from Doctor Strange, but we might see him in a post-credits scene, perhaps at the end of the season.

In a revelation, we find out that this variant of Loki is Lady Loki. Though we don’t know how it leads to this, we found that the character is called Sylvie in the credits scene.

In the comics, Sylvie Lushton is the Enchantress. There have also been rumors that Richard E Grant will also be playing a Loki variant in the show. I know, it just keeps getting more and more chaotic, and I love that!

Back on that later. So Lady Loki takes a commander C-20 of the TVA hostage, who later says that she gave away where the time-keepers are to Lady Loki. We also find out that Lady Loki has been attacking the MinuteMen to obtain the reset charges from them.

In the end, she puts Reset Charges through a portal and sets them all off together, causing a burst of branches to appear on the timeline, thus creating a multiverse. Phew, give me a second. I need to take a breather because there’s just so much happening.

Besides this, in an interview with Vanity Fair, writer Michael Waldron mentioned that the mess created in this series would be taken care of in Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness.

There are also speculations that Loki might team up with Wanda and Dr. Strange to fight the chaos of this multiverse. That only time will tell.

2. Mobius And Loki About TVA

The second plot point of interest is a conversation between Mobius and Loki. While Loki questions the existence and the legitimacy of the time-keepers, Mobius answers it with faith. According to Mobius, while the TVA works towards keeping the present and the past timeline intact without any branches, the time-keepers strive to create the future timeline. Loki makes a statement that ‘Nothing that is bad is truly bad, and nothing that is good is truly good.’

For some reason, this sticks with me. It could indicate that either the time-keepers or the TVA aren’t truly good. What also makes me tick is when Ravonna tells how much the time-keepers are involved in finding this variant of Loki. That statement somehow seems to have more depth than that meets the eye.

Well, whatever it is, we’ll just have to wait. And it’s going to be a long week ahead. Until then, I will go through Reddit threads, rewatch the episode, lose my mind over it, and ultimately read fan theories and articles like these!

My guess is I’m not going to be the only one. So how about we all take some time to rave about the show and see each other next week, after the third episode.
