Does Akiko Become the New Lady Bullseye in Marvel’s Hit Monkey?

The season 1 finale of Hit Monkey had a lot of surprises for us. One of them was definitely the death of Lady Bullseye.

To be honest, Shinji being the real culprit all along was a little predictable, but despite that the finale did a good job of bringing in everything together.

In the finale, we see Haruka kill Lady Bullseye as a part of taking revenge for Ito’s death. During the fight, Bryce manages to redeem himself by using salt to help his physical form. Then, Bryce grabbed Lady Bullseye, while Haruko got his revenge.

Lady Bullseye was left to bleed. The end sequence of the episode had an interesting scene, which is definitely giving us the hint that Akiko is the next Lady Bullseye.

Akiko dons Lady Bullseye’s mask in Marvel’s Hit-Monkey finale as she swears revenge on Monkey after he killed Shinji. This signified that she became the next Lady Bullseye by taking up the batten. Akiko’s Lady Bullseye will likely be there for fans to see in Hit-Monkey season 2 if and when it airs.

Though the finale of Marvel’s Hit Monkey does not explicitly declare Akiko as the next Lady Bullseye, we did see her take Lady Bullseye’s mask for herself. Considering that she did this while mourning the death of Shinji, I am guessing she was upset and revengeful.

So it is more than just probable that she is going to become the next Lady Bullseye. As per the comics, she does become the next Lady Bullseye as well. Akiko’s taking off the mask from Lady Bullseye’s corpse was the sign that she is going to be her successor. So I would say yes, we can expect Akiko as the next Lady Bullseye.

In the comics, Akiko was raised by her uncle Shinji Yokohoma after the death of her parents. As in the show, in the comics too Akiko is the one who convinces Shinji to run for President in Ken’s memory.

In fact in the comics too, she ends up hating Monkey because he killed Shinji despite knowing that he had no choice. As the finale depicted, in the comics too Shinji had pointed his gun as Haruko so the Monkey was forced to kill him despite Bryce advising him not to.
