Does Kwan kill Soren in Halo Ep 5?

Halo Ep 5 finally brings out all the action that the fans were craving, guns blazing. All with both the UNSC and the Covenant explosively fighting to have the Halo artifact in their possession, there is not that much screen time dedicated to what’s happening on Madrigal.

But we get enough to know that Kwan may try to kill Soren in the upcoming episode. Wondering if you read that right? You did.

At the end of Halo Ep 5, Kwan has knocked Soren unconscious. She points a gun at him but doesn’t pull the trigger yet. It is possible she won’t kill him because he could still be of advantage to her.

So how exactly did we get here?

Once again, I have to express how exhausting it is to see Kwan on screen not willing to listen to reason. Despite her aunt telling her how skeptical she was about her father’s rebellion, Kwan wants to keep fighting for a lost cause.

So when Soren (who, mind you, saved her yet another time from Vinsher’s folks) takes her to a safe spot, Kwan is annoyed at him for wanting to return back to the Rubble. Soren now knows that the only way to keep Kwan away from trouble is to literally handcuff her to the bike he stole, while he goes looking for a better vehicle.

Unfortunately for all involved, including us viewers, Kwan manages to get the handcuffs off, hides in the sand and then knocks out Soren. What’s worse is that the last shot we see of her is her pointing a gun at an unconscious Soren.

Will she really end up killing Soren in Ep 6? My gut says no—Kwan doesn’t have the stomach for murder yet, and Soren may still be more useful to her alive than dead. Besides, Soren has great potential not just in the plot, but also as a fan-favorite character.

Kwan is already quite unpopular among fans. If she pulls the trigger, that too after Soren going out of his way to help her, it’s seriously going to render her character unredeemable.
