Jungle Cruise Poster Shared by Dwayne Johnson After Trailer Release

Dwayne Johnson shared a new poster for his upcoming Disney film Jungle Cruise to celebrate the release of its second trailer, which has amassed a positive response from audiences. Initially scheduled for a summer 2020 release, the movie had to be delayed due to the COVID pandemic. It is currently slated to premiere in theatres and on Disney+ on July 30.

Although the movie’s promotions have been going on for a while now, it is arguably the recent trailer that has caught the attention of fans. Their reactions have been very encouraging for the film’s release, and as a result, the former pro-wrestler took to his Instagram to share some more exciting looks.

After commending fans’ response to the trailer, Johnson uploaded the new poster, which keeps in line with Jungle Cruise’s adventurous theme. Check it out here:

Past statements from the ensemble cast have likened the movie to Steven Spielberg’s Indiana Jones, but the previous teases failed to do justice to the comparison. However, the new trailer proves otherwise, and thus the successful response makes sense considering the action sequences present in the film.

The trailer is also filled with resemblances from Pirates of the Caribbean, The Mummy, and even Journey 2: The Mysterious Island, in which Johnson himself starred. With theaters opening up after a year of being out of business, there have been talks about the attendance at cinemas rejuvenating once again.

But so far, not a single release has been able to affect such a significant surge, but Disney’s Jungle Cruise could likely fulfill the job. The studio obviously seems to hold high hopes for the upcoming project and could be looking to establish a colossal franchise out of it.

Since box office numbers are the ultimate determining factor in contemporary cinema, quality has long been bypassed when it comes to establishing franchise films. Therefore, Jungle Cruise can be deduced to already be in quite the favorable position.

But whether it actually hits the mark with audiences and brings in the dimes remains to be seen.
