Seeing the note causes Fallon to remember a crucial detail from the night of her grandmother’s death. As it turns out, Steven left a secret message on Ben’s note for their father and put it in his jacket. Kirby supports this statement by presenting her father’s diary, which clearly stated that he was the one who hid the note in case Blake was actually guilty.
The judge finds the cause of their mother’s death to be a grave miscommunication and places a higher degree of responsibility on Ben, who did not ensure Blake saw the note. Blake offers to put the past behind them and Ben still holds a grudge against him and rejects his offer. Will the war between the brothers continue? Will Liam be able to finish his book on time? Meanwhile, Cristal persuades Dominique to be by her side at the trial as the lawsuit now puts even the Flores business at risk.
Adam lets it slip that Alexis was in Kirby’s room after she returns from her trip to London. Kirby panics when she realizes that her diary is gone. She then reaches out to Jeff to try to convince Alexis to return the diary. The trial starts off with Blake’s image taking a major hit as Ben reveals his extramarital affair with Fallon’s nanny.
Culhane finally tells Sam that he’s still dating Geneva and that he could possibly be in love with her. Sam reiterates that this is a terrible idea and that he shouldn’t tell her they were responsible for Leo’s death, even if she was going to leave him.
