Hawkeye Deleted Scene Reveals When Kingpin Entered the MCU

Deleted scenes have become something that Marvel fans eagerly look forward to for more possible reveals. But this time, a deleted clip from the Disney+ series Hawkeye takes us back in time instead.

Hawkeye gave Clint Barton the spotlight like never before as he prepared his apprentice, Kate Bishop, for her Phase 4 entry. However, it wasn’t Clint or Kate who made the internet go crazy. It was someone totally unexpected—Daredevil’s Wilson Fisk/Kingpin.

Just as Matt Murdock himself returned to lend a helping hand to our friendly neighborhood Spider-Man in NWH, Vincent D’Onofrio returned as the ruthless villain in Hawkeye.

Kingpin’s entry might seem like a recent event, but now a deleted scene from the series shows that the villain has been in the MCU for a long time.

The clip shows Kingpin meeting Eleanor Bishop after the Battle of New York in an outfit straight out of the Netflix show.

The two-minute-long clip shows Kate’s mother in a restaurant with Kingpin as he, in his usual threatening demeanor, tells her that she will have to clean up the mess her husband left behind.

Eleanor says that she does not intend to work in the crime world forever. To which, he replies, “You don’t have to. You do it until it’s done.”

It is understandable why the clip was cut as we eventually find out about their connection through a dialogue exchange in the finale. Still, it would’ve added a little depth to Eleanor’s character if we knew that she was hesitant and had no option but to join Kingpin.

There have been speculations suggesting that a post-credit scene confirming Fisk’s survival was supposedly cut. Kingpin’s fate remains uncertain as even D’Onofrio doesn’t know if his character is alive.

Whatever happens, it seems unlikely that Marvel would kill him off so easily as it would be a total waste not to use such a strong villain to his full potential.

Hawkeye is currently available to stream on Disney+.
