Elizabeth Debicki Channels Princess Diana in The Crown Set Photos

The Crown Season 5 is currently in production, and new set photos of the series’ Princess Diana in the iconic ‘Revenge dress’ have surfaced online.

Elizabeth Debicki will play Princess Diana in the upcoming season, and the new photos show her in character, exiting a car with a crowd surrounding her.

In 1994, Princess Diana’s attended a gala at the Serpentine Gallery in Kensington Gardens wearing the iconic black dress by Greek designer Christina Stambolian.

The dress was dubbed the ‘Revenge dress,’ as the Princess of Wales wore it the evening that Prince Charles admitted on national television that he had been cheating on her.

Considered to be one of her most rebellious and bold looks, Diana went against the royal protocol that discouraged off-shoulder necklines at royal appearances.

Debicki definitely has a strong resemblance to the late princess, her get-up and hair-do further assuring fans that she was indeed the perfect choice for the role.

Just like previous seasons, this one will have a whole new cast to portray the characters at different ages. However, this season’s cast will return for the sixth season, which will also be the drama series’ final chapter.

Alongside Debicki, Season 5 will star Imelda Staunton as Queen Elizabeth II, Lesley Manville as Princess Margaret, Jonathan Pryce as Prince Philip, Dominic West as Prince Charles, and Jonny Lee Miller as John Major.

From creator/writer Peter Morgan, The Crown is directed by Stephen Daldry and produced by Andy Harries.

The Crown Season 5 will release sometime in November 2022. The previous seasons are available for streaming on Netflix.
