Scarlet Witch Can Travel Through the Multiverse, Reveals Elizabeth Olsen

WandaVision star Elizabeth Olsen has revealed that Wanda aka the Scarlet Witch possesses the ability to travel through the multiverse. Marvel’s Phase Four kicked off with the sitcom-inspired miniseries that followed the idyllic lives of Wanda and Vision in the suburbs of Westview.

Now, ever since the series ended, fans have been wondering whether a Season 2 could be in the works or not. But amidst all the speculation, Elizabeth Olsen has unveiled new details about her character.

During a recent appearance on The Hollywood Reporter’s Award Chatter, the actress stated that Wanda holds “a few fun powers. You know, telekinesis, she can travel between universes…”

However, the actress didn’t expand any further on the information, possibly due to realizing that she might have revealed too much, considering that it wasn’t hinted at during the series.

Regardless, the detail comes as a much-needed tease for her next appearance in Sam Raimi’s Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. During the 2019 San Diego Comic-Con event, Marvel Studios confirmed that Wanda would join Stephen Strange in his second standalone film after her outing in Westview.

Thus, the events of WandaVision directly lead to the story of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Although the Master of Mystic Arts was initially supposed to make an entry during the show’s finale, Kevin Feige later pulled the idea.

Instead, the first meeting between the two characters will be shown on the big screen, though it remains uncertain how this event could play out, given that there’s no apparent connection between the two.

While WandaVision never revealed that the Scarlet Witch could travel through the multiverse, it displayed hints regarding its possibility, specifically the Nexus commercial. It could be a probable reference to her being one of the Nexus Beings, who are known as “rare individual entities with the power to affect probabilities—and thus the future.”

Additionally, her Chaos Magic lets her modify reality itself, which is how she created the fake town of Westview. Then again, her upcoming communion with Doctor Strange is the most important indicator as of yet, that she can actually travel through different realities.
