She looks the healthiest we’ve seen her this season while she’s in the audience in Lexi’s play. Will she make up with Jules or will the two go their separate ways?

The play resurfaces a lot of emotions for the group. Cassie walks out during a scene that was about her friendship with Maddy and tries to regain her composure in the bathroom. It’s unclear if she intends to act on any of the remorse or guilt she feels for betraying Maddy, especially after she’s moved in with Nate and publicly flaunting her relationship with him. However, what gets the most rise out of Cassie is Nate’s reaction to the play. He lashes out at her and she walks back to the theatre, possibly to retaliate by ruining Lexi’s play.

In the teaser, we see Maddy chasing after Cassie. What will be the outcome of this confrontation? What did Cassie do to get this reaction out of Maddy in that moment?

Lastly, we will also get to see why Fez didn’t make it to Lexi’s play. What happens at Fez’s house that causes him to get arrested? Stay tuned to find out.

Euphoria Season 2 Episode 7 Recap

The episode begins with the overture to Lexi’s play. We see flashbacks of real memories from the characters’ lives and Lexi’s reenactment of them for her play. The first significant one is that of Rue’s father’s funeral. It’s at this point that Lexi realizes that drugs are a greater comfort to Rue than she could ever be and also when the two begin to grow apart.

As characters in Lexi’s play are introduced, the group begins to realize the play is actually about them. Maddy is the first one to put this together. In between her performances, Lexi looks over to the empty seat she’d reserved for Fez. In the days leading up to the play, she’d been on the phone with Fez, discussing her inhibitions about it and he’d reassured her and promised to be in attendance. Fez dressed up in a suit and was preparing to leave when Custer showed up at his house. Custer tries to ask questions about where Fez is heading, and Ashtray starts to get suspicious of him.

The play has several scenes from real events in Lexi’s life that were formative for her in one way or another. We get to see the impact Cassie had on her self-image growing up and how differently the two sisters remember their father. In another flashback, we see the aftermath of Rue telling everyone Cassie had been sleeping with Nate. Cassie rushed upstairs and locked herself in the bathroom. Maddie bangs on the door asking for an explanation and breaks down. Cassie never responds or apologizes.

When Lexi’s play introduces the character that is supposed to be Nate, everyone in the audience starts looking at Nate, who is sitting next to Cassie. Nate’s character in the play is given an extremely raunchy choreography in an obviously homoerotic setting. Everyone in the audience begins to laugh and Nate storms out. Cassie trails behind him trying to comfort him and he snaps at her and tells her to get out of his house. Cassie, fuming with anger, walks back to the theatre that is exploding with applause.
