Narcos: Mexico Gets Release Date Teaser For S3 And It Features Bad Bunny

Netflix just released a teaser with the date announcement for the third and final season of Narcos: Mexico, and it has Bad Bunny in it.

Set for a November premiere, Narcos: Mexico Season 3 marks the sixth season in the series overall. Netflix has also released first look images that show off new and returning cast members who will play an important role in the show’s final outing.

The teaser gives us a new narrator, Andrea Nunez. Played by Luisa Rubino, Nunez is a Mexican journalist (who also happens to be the show’s first female narrator).

Narcos has always had an outsider narrating the events, following and keeping up with the cartel’s movements and key members. DEA agents, played by Boyd Holbrook (1-2), Pedro Pascal (3), and Scoot McNairy (4-5), have narrated the previous seasons.

The video description reads:

The Final Blow. The third and final season of Narcos: Mexico premieres November 5th only on Netflix.

And aptly so, the clip gives us a sneak peek at the turmoil and violence that Miguel Ángel Félix Gallardo’s (Diego Luna) arrest caused in the ’90s when the globalization of the drug business ignited as other cartels attempted to take over the vast empire that he had created.

The first three seasons of Narcos focused on how Pablo Escobar reigned as Colombia’s cocaine kingpin.

Narcos: Mexico (Narcos 4) focused on the still ongoing war on drugs that started with the murder of DEA Agent Kiki Camarena and the rise of the Guadalajara Cartel in the 1980s.

Season 2 finale set up the rise of the Tijuana Cartel, the Sinaloa Cartel, and the Juárez Cartel and gave us that chilling speech by Gallardo warning DEA Agent Walt Breslin (McNairy) about the chaos that’s about to unleash.

The official synopsis for Season 3 reads:

As newly independent cartels struggle to survive political upheaval and escalating violence, a new generation of Mexican kingpins emerge. But in this war, truth is the first casualty — and every arrest, murder, and take-done only pushes real victory further away.

The cast members returning include Scoot McNairy, Jose Maria Yazpik, Alberto Ammann, Alfonso Dosal, Mayra Hermosillo, Matt Letscher, Manuel Masalva, Alejandro Edda, and Gorka Lasaosa.

Whereas newcomers will be played by Luis Gerardo Méndez, Alberto Guerra, Luisa Rubino, and Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio (better known as Bad Bunny).

Wagner Moura is returning, just not as Pablo Escobar. Moura is switching roles as the actor will direct two episodes in the final series. He’ll be joining a list of directors, including Baiz, Alejandra Márquez Abella, Luis Ortega, and Amat Escalante.

Eric Newman, who served as showrunner of both Narcos and Narcos: Mexico until now, also passed on the role to co-creator Carlo Bernard.

Newman previously spoke to THR about how the Narcos: Mexico story would evolve after season 2,

You can look at season one of Mexico as consolidation of power, and season two as the erosion of it — and then what comes in its place is chaos. If you view the Mexican chapter of Narcos as an acceleration into chaos, the end of season two is very much where we become untethered. We’re hurtling out of control, and where it leads is our incredibly bloody present.

Narcos: Mexico Season 3 will consist of 10 episodes and premiere on November 5 on Netflix.
