Alyssa Sutherland Talks About Evil Dead Rise’s Crazy Collections

Alyssa Sutherland, who stars in Evil Dead Rise, is thrilled by the film’s huge earnings.

The film, which hit theaters in April, is the newest addition to the Evil Dead series. It tells the story of two sisters, Ellie (Sutherland) and Beth (Sullivan), who have to defend their family from evil creatures called Deadites.

The film was supposed to be on HBO Max, but it got a cinema release after positive feedback from early viewers. The film has made more than $100 million and has received good reviews from fans and critics.

Sutherland talks to Insider about how she feels about the movie’s huge earnings.

The actor says it’s “crazy” and thinks back to the original plan to have Evil Dead Rise debut on the streaming platform. See what Sutherland says about the box office collection for Evil Dead Rise here:

“It’s so wild. To think that we were gonna go to HBO Max and, instead, this has been the path that it’s taken… like, wait, what? I feel like a lot of people are going to the cinema more than once for it. It’s so cool.”

Evil Dead Rise earned more in its first weekend than the original 1981 movie, coming in second at the box office and beating early estimates. The blood shown in its trailer built up excitement from old fans, and the film’s location in a rundown Los Angeles apartment building seemed to appeal to new viewers too.

As for its role in the series, Evil Dead Rise is not only the most profitable part, but it also added new things, like the location switch and a third book of the Naturom Demonto.

Evil Dead Rise’s huge earnings favors the series growth in the future, and Lee Cronin, the director, is already planning possible follow-ups.

In the film, a quake opened up a secret area under Ellie’s building where Danny (Davies) discovered the Book of the Dead, and some tapes made by a priest whose words unleashed the Deadites. Cronin said before that an Evil Dead Rise sequel could show those past events or have a priest fight many demons.

It’s great to hear Sutherland’s excitement about the huge earnings of Evil Dead Rise, especially since it was planned for HBO Max. It will be fun to see how the series’ fanbase expands after this film comes out and if its survivors will show up again in the future.

With the amount of passion around Evil Dead Rise’s debut, and its box office results, more parts seem possible.
