‘Evil’ Season 2 Reveals Premiere Date in Bone-chilling Teaser

The best horror show on TV is back, but this time, with double the demons.

After the popular CBS drama moved to Paramount+, the much-buzzed Season 2 of Evil now has a teaser trailer that reveals a premiere date in June.

Created by The Good Wife and The Good Fight’s Robert and Michelle King, the supernatural drama was quickly renewed for a second season after airing just a few episodes.

Evil examines the origin of, well, evil—exploring the phenomenon along the lines of science and religion.

The first season found a good balance between scary and funny, as it explored morality and ethics within the realm of religious horror.

The 13-episode season will release episodes each Sunday on the streaming service. The teaser for the new season showcases vignettes from the Evil characters over a spooky soundtrack, with each of them fighting their own supernatural battles.

There’s no shortage of scares in the new teaser, which features exorcisms, grisly murders and creepy creatures, all in under two minutes.

Dr. Kristen Bouchard

Evil follows Dr. Kristen Bouchard (Katja Herbers), a forensic psychologist, and David Acosta (Mike Colter), a Catholic priest-in-training, who are hired to investigate supernatural events and assess their legitimacy. The cast also includes familiar faces such as Aasif Mandvi, Lost’s Michael Emerson, Christine Lahti, and Kurt Fuller.

Season 1 of Evil ended on a shocking cliffhanger as it was heavily implied that Kristen murdered a serial killer who was stalking her family. Judging by the trailer, Season 2 appears to be picking up right there.

Here’s the official synopsis for Evil Season 2.

Evil is a psychological mystery that examines the origins of evil along the dividing line between science and religion. The series focuses on a skeptical female psychologist who joins a priest-in-training and a contractor as they investigate the Church’s backlog of unexplained mysteries, including supposed miracles, demonic possessions, and hauntings.

Their job is to assess if there is a logical explanation or if something truly supernatural is at work.

The second season brings evil closer to home. Kristin struggles with her darker nature after killing a man, while David suffers temptation as he gets closer to his ordination. Meanwhile, Ben is visited by night terrors that prey on his greatest fears.”

Based on the trailer, it certainly seems that demons will be the central focus of Season 2. The second season of Evil premieres Sunday, June 20, 2021, exclusively on Paramount+.
