Fan Finds a Synced-Up Connection Between WandaVision and Loki

Reddit fan finds a uniquely coincidental connection between WandaVision and Loki.

When season finales of both shows are played side by side, the moment Wanda turns into the Scarlet Witch, coincides with the moment He Who Remains crosses the threshold of the known future.

Let’s look at each of these individually first.

In WandaVision, the Scarlet Witch is revealed to be in possession of the chaos magic, heard of only in legends.

As Wanda traps Harkness within the runes she has laid over Westfield’s barriers, she transforms into the Scarlett witch, her costume coming into play at 27 minutes 35 seconds.

In a space that exists at the end of the time, Loki and Sylvie finally are face to face with the brainchild behind the TVA, He Who Remains (Kang). He explains to them that even in all disbelief, the bumps on their road that led the pair to him, were foreseen by him.

Of course, up until the point where he crosses the “threshold,” after which he is no longer privy to what will happen next. This crossing happens at 27 minutes 30 seconds into the episode.

It does beg the question — Were the two moments related?

On one hand, like the TVA, the Citadel at the end of Time, should not experience “time” in the way that universes do. So in that sense, Wanda’s transformation into the Scarlet Witch, which is situated at a very specific point in time, would be an event that already occurred for He Who Remains.

There is yet another connection to be made: Loki’s ending, where Sylvie opens up the multiverse by killing Kang, would explain how Wanda is able to hear her kid’s voices, as shown in WandaVision’s after-credits scene.

Wanda’s abilities could extend to being able to experience (or at least, being aware) of other realities in the multiverse.

Yet, given that the MCU’s concepts of multiverses and time are relatively new, unexplored and not strictly defined, some fans speculate that it is possible that both the shows’ moments could be occurring at the same point in the stream.

Sadly for fans riding on this theory, Loki’s director Kate Herron has confirmed that the sync-up was “purely coincidental” as the episode was already in post-production at the time WandaVision’s finale aired.

That doesn’t mean we can’t take it as a sign from the universe, right? Herron definitely does not want to shut down any theories, as she says so in an interview with SUPES.

Perhaps with Spider-Man: No Way Home coming up in December, more foundation can be built for when the multiverse is in full swing for Doctor Strange 2.

Wanda will be part of Doctor Strange in the Multitude of Madness and theories have it that Loki will be making an appearance. It would be fitting since, without the two, we wouldn’t be able to usher in the era of MCU’s multiverse.

Till then, catch us in the club rewatching WandaVision and Loki to spot more connections.
