Spider-Man: No Way Home Causes Chaos – Fans Fight Over Presale Tickets

One has to be as fast as Quicksilver to grab the tickets if it’s a highly anticipated MCU film. When tickets go on sale for such massive crossover events, it’s a blink-and-miss kind of situation.

Usually, this is a good sign as it shows just how strongly people feel about a particular franchise. However, a fight that broke out during the presale of Spider-Man: No Way Home tickets in Mexico would even disappoint the superhero himself.

A new video obtained by a local news outlet, Diario De Morelos , shows two men engaging in a fist-fight next to a Cinépolis ticket counter. A few seconds in, one of them is on the ground, and the guy on top landed a few punches before others intervened to break it up.

The incident took place in the city of Cuernavaca, Mexico, on Monday when tickets for the film went on sale. The demand for the tickets was so great that the online portals crashed, resulting in people flocking in to buy the tickets in person.

Although the situation hasn’t gotten so bizarre elsewhere, the presale tickets have been vanishing just as quickly. As reported by Deadline, the film’s sales on Fandango have already reached Avengers: Endgame’s level.

The first day presales surpassed the likes of Avengers: Infinity War, Spider-Man: Far From Home, Star Wars: The Last Jedi, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, and Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.

Fandango Managing Editor Erik Davis said,

Spider-Man: No Way Home promises to wrap a bow around 20 years of live-action Spider-Man movies, and anticipation is through the roof with fans anxious to see how Tom Holland’s Homecoming trilogy concludes. The most anticipated film of the season promises to deliver surprises on every level, and December 17 can’t come soon enough.

Sony’s Spider-Man: No Way Home can easily be considered this year’s most awaited film. Fans have been making theories and expecting a million different things from this title – eventually getting to a point where even Marvel boss Kevin Feige had to warn fans to lower their expectations.

The opening weekend for Spider-Man: No Way Home is estimated to surpass $100M. However, this number should surprise no one, as fans have been waiting for a long time for an event that will officially unleash the multiverse.

No Way Home will bring back iconic villains from previous Spider-Man movies, including Doc Ock, Green Goblin, Electro, Lizard, and Sandman, among other “surprises.”
