God of Thunder director Taika Waititi reunites with star Chris Hemsworth once again for the 4th Thor standalone movie. Thor: Love and Thunder expands on the Infinity Saga in which Jane Foster will return and (Natalie Portman) become Mighty Thor.
The movie is set to be very dynamic, with the appearance of the Guardians of the Galaxy, the Mighty Thor, and the rule of King Valkyrie in New Asgard. Christian Bale will also make his MCU debut as the movie’s primary villain: Gorr, the God Butcher.
It is Thor, however, who is at the center of Love and Thunder’s storytelling. Thor is dealing with a midlife crisis and is wondering what his next move will be after the Infinity Saga. Thor: Love and Thunder may surprise some viewers since he lacks the extra weight gained after Thanos’ snap.
The new Thor: Love and Thunder trailer teases the return of fat Thor from the Endgame movie!
With Thor: Love and Thunder’s release date fast approaching, marketing continues to ramp up, one of which has been shared by Marvel Entertainment.
Several new scenes and even a few new dialogs by Gorr are featured in the clip. The most noteworthy thing about the trailer is that this is Fat Thor’s first appearance since Avengers: Endgame.
However, fat Thor has not been on Waititi’s agenda from the beginning. Plus, Hemsworth has declared himself to be the biggest and strongest Thor he’s ever been, so this is truly the end of the road for the God of Thunder’s fat physique.
Avengers: Endgame was a beloved hit, but Thor’s arc, which mainly used the character for comedic purposes, was one of the most divisive parts of the blockbuster. Seeing as Love and Thunder shows Thor’s attempts at losing weight and coping with PTSD, I hope the new film prevents this struggle from being cheapened.
Although the new trailer does not explain Fat Thor’s appearance, it is likely to be part of a flashback sequence portraying Fat Thor’s adventures with the Guardians of the Galaxy.
As shown at the end of Avengers: Endgame, the Asgardian Prince entrusted the ruling of the world to Valkyrie while he jetted off with his cosmic friends. After that, Thor likely separated as he began his healing journey.
Fans might have to wait until the release of the movie for the mystery to unfold, on July 8.

Thor: Love and Thunder is a MCU movie and the fourth installation in the Thor series. It is directed by Ragnarok’s director, Taika Waititi, and will show Chris Hemsworth and Natalie Portman reprising their roles as Thor Odinson and Dr. Jane Foster.
The movie will be based on The Mighty Thor comics in which Thor Odinson loses the ability to lift Mjolnir, and Jane Foster takes on the role of Mighty Thor. After the events of Avengers: Endgame, Thor teams up with The Guardians of the Galaxy for a short time, leaving Valkyrie as the ruler of New Asgard. But Thor returns to team up with Korg, Valkyrie and Jane’s Mighty Thor to take down Gorr the God Butcher (Christian Bale) – before he takes out all the gods in existence.
Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson return for Watiti’s second go, while Russell Crowe and Natalie Portaman join Taika’s project for the first time. The movie is out on July 8, 2022.
