No MCU or Little Mermaid Trailers at the Super Bowl.

The trailer for The Little Mermaid and The Marvels didn’t release at the Super Bowl 2023, and the fans took to Twitter to show their frustration.

The Super Bowl LVII broadcast was accompanied by the release of various movie trailers, such as Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 and Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny.

However, the trailers for two of the most anticipated movies of 2023 were absent from the list, making the fans very sad. While some lamented the films that got airtime rather than the absentees, others regretted having tuned in to watch the Super Bowl in the first place.

Why are Fans so Riled Up about the absence of The Little Mermaid Trailer?

The frustration of the fans is multifaceted. Firstly, The Little Mermaid will be a massive part of the Disney Renaissance, including classics like The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast, and The Lion King.

In concoction with gen-z animation, the classic storyline will be a masterpiece that the fans were genuinely waiting to get a flavor of.

Secondly, the casting of Halle Bailey is a huge crowd-puller. Halle is one half of the famous musical duo Chloe x Halle, and that duo has a legion of fans online.

There is also the fact that The Little Mermaid has been in the works for a long time. The film was originally announced in 2016, and Bailey’s casting was announced in 2019. Since then, its progress has been very sluggish by Disney, and they have revealed very few positive details about the film.

All these factors have fomented the fans’ impatience, which can be seen in shades in the tweets.

Why did The Marvels’ Trailer get Delayed?

Reports surfaced that The MCU will release its first trailer for the Marvels during this year’s Super Bowl. This excited the fans, but the only MCU trailer shown during the Super Bowl was that of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.

The Captain Marvel sequel is one of the most significant installments of Phase 5 of the MCU, and many fans expected that the showrunners would use the Super Bowl as the perfect way to publicize the new trailer, but that didn’t happen.

Now, the main question is when will the marketing for The Marvels start? Since, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is releasing next week, fans will have to wait before the first teaser for The Marvels releases.

An official The Marvels trailer may also be saved for the NBA finals that will be played on June 1. Since the NBA finals will air on ABC, owned by Disney, it will give the trailer another accessible portal for great publicity.

While The MCU has its plan for The Marvels, it is very natural for the fans to be outraged. At present, we have nothing but the movie logo and a few set photos for The Marvels.

Hopefully, when the MCU decides to start the marketing for The Marvels, they will make the wait worth it for the fans.
