The first look of the highly anticipated action-comedy film, Grand Theft Lotto, features the cast wielding toy guns, hinting at the crazy theme of the movie.
Earlier this month, the makers of the upcoming action-comedy film announced its star-studded cast. The cast is led by John Cena, known for his role in Peacemaker, and the duo of Simu Liu and Awkwafina, who starred together in Shang Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. The film, developed for Prime Video, is being directed by Paul Feig.
Prime Video recently shared the first look of Grant Theft Lotto on Twitter, featuring John Cena, Awkwafina, and director Paul Feig posing like spies and holding toy guns. Simu Liu was not present in the photo. The image was accompanied by a witty caption, “AwkwaCENA,”.
The upcoming action-comedy, Grant Theft Lotto, has an intriguing and unique concept. It is set in the near future in a financially unstable California and centers around a contest called the Grand Lottery.
According to the rules of the game, if someone manages to kill the lottery winner before sundown, they can legally claim the prize. The movie’s plot follows Awkwafina’s character, who wins the lottery and hires a protector played by Cena to keep her safe from a rival portrayed by Liu. Grant Theft Lotto’s screenplay is written by Rob Yescombe.
Other than its ensemble cast, the film is also in safe hands in terms of direction. Feig is a well-established director of comedies, with successful collaborations with Melissa McCarthy, including Bridesmaids, The Heat, Spy, and Ghostbusters.
With its unique and entertaining premise and a talented team behind it, Grant Theft Lotto is poised to be an exciting and enjoyable movie whenever it is released on Prime Video.
