‘Friends’ Reunion on May 27: The One Where They Get Back Together Again

We finally have the release date on the Friends reunion special, and could we BE more excited?!

After what seemed like years of desperate waiting, fans of the ’90s sitcom Friends have finally snatched a confirmation date for the Reunion Special. And if that wasn’t enough to make you squeal, the icing on the cake is that all of your favorite celebrities are making a cameo!

While not much can be said of the show so early on, here’s everything we do know!

It’s confirmed! HBO Max announced that the Friends Reunion Special is set to air on Thursday, 27th May. The unscripted reunion brings back the original cast to their infamous stage at Warner Bros, and the show’s original executives are involved in the process.

The Friends Official Twitter handle tweeted the teaser with the announcement, captioning it “The One Where They Get Back Together Again.”

The guest list has also been released, and some of the names have fans going feral. The list boasts a line-up including worldwide sensation BTS, late-night show host James Corden, soccer legend David Beckham, as well as superstars like Justin Bieber, Reese Witherspoon, Lady Gaga, Cara Delevingne, Cindy Crawford, Kit Harrington, Larry Hankin, Tom Selleck, and Mindy Kailing!

The original executive producers (Kevin Bright, Marta Kauffman, and David Crane) will also be returning to set, and joining them will be The Late Late Show producer Ben Winston, who is also the director of the special.

As blissful as this is, an important thing to keep in mind is that this reunion is not a brand-new episode added to the series. While the cast will be revisiting the set, sharing behind-the-scenes footage, and reminiscing about the old days, they’re not going to be resuming their roles as the original characters.

“In order to avoid any misunderstanding about what this special is, we want to make it very clear that this is not a new, original episode of the series. The cast will be appearing as themselves, not as their beloved characters.”

HBO Max

That being said, the reunion is still one of the most anticipated in recent times. And we really couldn’t have asked for more.
