Master Chief allows himself to be traced and surrenders to the UNSC without any further resistance. He speaks to Dr. Halsey about how he has changed since contact with the relic. Dr. Halsey, who now has the support of the UNSC, activates her clone to become the foundation for Cortana. What will happen now as Cortana is going to be activated?

Chapter 3 of the Halo Season 1 series, titled “Transitional Epicenter”, has been released on Thursday, Apr 07, 2022 at 12:00 am PDT.

Master Chief, now free from his military programming, is on the run with the sole survivor of the Madrigal colony, a teenager named Kwan Ha. In a flashback scene, we see how John-117 tries to stop his peer Soren from escaping the facility where they’re being put into the Spartan program. He gives his friend a head-start before blowing the whistle on him.

Master Chief and Kwan arrive at an insurgent community, all the members of which are wary of having a Spartan in their presence. Coincidentally, this community is run by Soren. He introduces Master Chief and Kwan to his family as he explains the ways of the asteroid community. Makee, the Covenant’s human convert, resolves to get back the ancient relic Master Chief had activated that caused him to regain his memories. Meanwhile, the UNSC has a meeting with the objective of tracking down Master Chief. Dr. Halsey introduces her artificial intelligence program, Cortana, and the UNSC decides to move forward with it.

After speaking to a survivor of the Covenant, Master Chief learns that the relic is capable of creating mass destruction and could essentially cause the apocalypse. He leaves Kwan behind with Soren and heads back to the UNSC as he realizes he needs his compatriots in order to stop the Covenant.
