Halo Episode 8: Release Date, Recap and Speculation

In last week’s episode, we are taken back to Madrigal as Kwan finds herself with a group of mystics. She has a vision of being reunited with Master Chief, who leads her to a figure. The figure takes the form of her family and tells her about a portal that exists at the location of their home in Madrigal. Meanwhile, Soren returns to his home planet and faces speculation about him not telling the truth about what happened in Madrigal. He manages to suppress any questions about his authority but chooses to return to Madrigal to fulfill his promise to John-117. We bring you the latest updates!

Kwan and Soren join forces and take down Vinsher. Vinsher’s surveillance systems make him privy to Kwan’s presence on the planet and he assembles his loyalists to take down Kwan. Kwan and Soren successfully carry out their plan of making the gas facility explode, killing several of Vinsher’s men.

Soren returns to his home planet and Kwan is left with the responsibility of protecting the portal. Will she reunite with Master Chief and tell him about what is at stake with the portal? Stay tuned to find out.

Chapter 8 of the Halo Season 1 series, titled “Power Corrupts”, has been released on Thursday, May 12, 2022 at 12:00 am PDT.

This episode brings the focus back to Kwan and her mission to reclaim leadership of the insurgency against the UNSC. She’s apprehended by mystics in the desert that Soren abandoned her in. She consumes an unknown substance that causes her to have a vision. In this vision, she has to go up against Master Chief in a fight, which she repeatedly loses.

Once she is able to break the cycle, Master Chief takes her to meet a shadowy figure, that assumes the form of her family. She finds out about a prophecy that she is the one who can help Master Chief. The vision of her father tells her that there is a portal at the location of their home in Madrigal and that she must protect the portal from getting into the wrong hands at any cost.

Meanwhile, Soren returns home and there is speculation about what really happened during his time at Madrigal. He plans and executes a heist successfully to re-establish his authority but can’t seem to forget about the promise he made to John-117 to keep Kwan secure and decides to return to Madrigal. He reunites with Kwan, and the two agree to set aside their differences in order to take down Vinsher.
