In last week’s episode, the UNSC tries to plot their next move as another one of their colonies is decimated by the Covenant. Master Chief manages to convince the UNSC to let Makee interface with the artifact as that would help them locate the Covenant. As Makee and Master Chief grow closer, Dr. Halsey learns that she’s being permanently removed from Reach and decides to put up a fight against the decision. Makee manages to interface with the artifact and escape as she telepathically bids goodbye to Master Chief.

Halo Episode 9 Speculation
The Spartans under Halsey’s control try to stop Makee and Master Chief before she can interface with the artifact. Keyes realizes that Makee was responsible for ambushing a UNSC vessel and Makee is taken into custody. However, she manages to make contact with the artifact and the resultant shockwave allows her to escape. Why did Makee remove the Covenant’s device implanted on her?

Halo Episode 9 Release Date
Chapter 9 of the Halo Season 1 series, titled “Rascals of the Day”, has been released on Thursday, May 19, 2022 at 12:00 am PDT.

Halo Episode 8 Recap
In this episode, the focus is drawn back to Master Chief and Makee. Both of them have similar visions of the Halo rings. As Master Chief gives Makee a tour around Reach, Dr. Halsey continues her illicit surveillance on them through Cortana. Upon learning that another frontier colony on a different planet has been destroyed by the Covenant, Master Chief and Parangonsky wish to retaliate with an offensive stance, but Captain Keyes is not sure this would be the right move.
Master Chief convinces his UNSC superiors to let Makee interface with the Forerunner artifact in order to help them pinpoint the Covenant’s location and tells Makee of this development. She kisses him and the two of them end up sleeping together. Meanwhile, as Dr. Halsey learns of this through Cortana, she’s informed that Admiral Parangosky is having her removed from Reach and she retaliates against the decision.
Halsey hacks into Makee’s quarters and tells her and Master Chief that the UNSC is only using them to gain access to the Halo rings for themselves. She then assumes control of the Spartans and gets them to work against the UNSC. She then gives them orders to seize the artifact, along with Master Chief and Makee. Kai, who had been slowly regaining autonomy just like Master Chief, questions these orders and ends up getting attacked herself.
