Harrison Ford played the role of Han Solo, who was almost never seen without his iconic blaster and his partner Chewy.

According to Collider, Han Solo’s original DL-44 Heavy Blaster Pistol prop from the Star Wars movies was sold for $1,057,500 in the Rock Island Auction Company last week.

The estimated sale price for the pistol prop was between $300,000 to $500,000 but it was sold for more than double the expected price. The unique prop is reportedly only one of three original props of the guns that survived from the making of Star Wars.

During the production of the films, George Lucas wanted to give Star Wars a “used feature” aesthetic, to give his universe a more lived-in vibe. Due to a limited budget, Lucas and his crew used real objects to fill out the world.

The DL-44 pistol used by Han Solo was customized using three C96 pistols. The unique pistol became Han’s go-to weapon throughout the original Star Wars trilogy as well as the prequel films.

The pistol has been featured in setpieces like Princess Leia’s rescue aboard the Death Star and the ground assault on the forest moon of Endor. It was also the weapon that took out Greedo, giving birth to the “Han Shot First” debate.

The pistol is one of the most iconic props from the Star Wars movies and has a high price in the real world.
