‘Harry Potter’ Star Rupert Grint Responds To Potential TV Show Spinoff

Recently, Harry Potter star Rupert Grint weighed in on the possibility of an HBO Max TV spinoff of the most popular blockbuster franchise, saying he’s protective of Ron as a character, and is interested and eager to see where the potential spinoff takes the story.

Fans have been quick enough to speculate about the various directions the show could take and how it could avoid making the same blunders as Fantastic Beasts.

It is being claimed by the sources that the studio executives have met with potential writers and scrutinized various story ideas in the hopes of bringing the Wizarding World to television.  However, so far no writers or talent are attached to the project.

“It’ll be weird if it was a continuation kind of thing. I weirdly feel quite protective of that character. Even when I saw the stage shows, it was a very strange experience… If it’s like a different group of friends, I guess it would be interesting.”

In all possibility, most Harry Potter fans are as protective of the iconic redhead and all of the other characters from the film franchise as the actors themselves.

It would be a risky move for HBO Max to interfere with any original characters or the original story. However, most likely, different story ideas that are far enough removed from the original franchise, but still manage to grasp the same magic that made Harry Potter such a classic, will be pursued.

The series could narrate the Marauders’ story or the original Order of the Phoenix, both of which would widen the Wizarding World without fiddling with the original films. HBO Max tends to portray darker and more mature content, so perhaps the show will try to appeal to an older audience who grew up with Harry.

The only thing that’s certain at this point regarding the potential Harry Potter TV series is that it isn’t releasing anytime soon
