With Season 1 Just Halfway in, Reservation Dogs Gets Season 2 Renewal

Reservation Dogs is Hulu’s next big thing as the series has been renewed for a second season before the first one even reached its conclusion.

The series streaming on FX on Hulu has made a strong impression, with just five episodes into Season 1 as of now. The series currently has a perfect scoring of 100% critical rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

As reported by TVLine, Season 2 is expected to launch in 2022. The comedy series will drop its Episode 6 on September 6.

Nick Grad, FX’s president of original programming, said,

We couldn’t wait to share Reservation Dogs with viewers and are thrilled that they seem to love it as much as we do. We’re happy to put in an early order for another season.

Sterlin Harjo delivered on his creative vision, partnering with Taika Waititi and the rest of the creative team, the brilliant cast and crew to create one of TV’s best new comedies and a groundbreaking showcase of representation and raw talent.

Reservation Dogs follows four Indigenous teenagers in rural Oklahoma who steal, rob and save in order to get to the exotic, mysterious, and faraway land of California.

The series stars D’Pharaoh Woon-A-Tai, Devery Jacobs, Paulina Alexis, and Lane Factor as the four friends alongside Zahn McClarnon, Sarah Podemski, and Dallas Goldtooth. The series features an almost entirely Indigenous cast.

The series is filmed on location in Okmulgee, Oklahoma, with the writer, director, and most of the crew on the show being Indigenous as well.

Sterlin Harjo and Taika Waititi co-created Reservation Dogs. They also serve as executive producers along with Garret Basch. The series is produced by FX Productions.

Reservation Dogs Season 1 will end with Episode 8 on September 20, 2021.

Reservation Dogs is an American comedy television series created by Sterlin Harjo and Taika Waititi. It is a notable first in that it features all Indigenous writers and directors, along with an almost entirely-Indigenous American cast and production team.

The series follows the lives of four Indigenous teenagers in rural Oklahoma, as they spend their days committing crime and fighting it, in a effort to get to California.

 

It is also the first series to be shot entirely in Oklahoma. The series premiered on August 9, 2021 on FX on Hulu and is currently airing its second season.
