Fans Joke That CGI Error Proves Hawkeye Show Is From Another Timeline

Is it possible that the currently-airing Hawkeye is not set during the Sacred Timeline? A CGI continuity error makes fans jest about this.

As part of Kate Bishop’s origin story, we see the Battle of New York from her perspective. Here, a Reddit user points out a small continuity error: When Kate looks at Stark Tower, only the letter “R” is missing. However, in the 2012 Avengers, the letters “R” and “K” both seem to get destroyed at the same time.

I’m sure this is simply a CGI error. Given Disney+’s history of handling such situations, the scene will either be edited or taken out.

Some responses on the Reddit chain have also tried to lash out if this really is a continuity error or not — especially because all the letters on the tower eventually fall off, save for the “A.” Fans have stopped nothing short of analyzing the 2012 movie frame by frame to find out who is right.

It doesn’t end there: some fans even joked about how this is proof that Hawkeye is not set within the Sacred Timeline, and what we’re looking at is a variant Clint Barton.

With the multiverse lurking around, we have to keep our eyes peeled for any possibility. However, for this instance, I think we can agree that the VFX team made an honest mistake and did not expect fans to pick it up.

To show how nitpicky fans can be, one user simply commented how this CGI error makes the whole MCU unwatchable to ironically signify that the error doesn’t actually affect 2012 Avengers or any other MCU project.

In fact, it hardly comes close to the small blunder made in Spider-Man: Homecoming that stated the Battle of New York took place eight years before the movie instead of the correct timeline of six years.

If this proves anything, it’s that Marvel should be overjoyed that their fans are so obsessed with their projects to remember all details and spot every tiny error.
